[It's only been a day, but he is anxious to get back to her. He won't say he's desperate to go to the brothel, because that's not the case. He would want her no matter where he found her.

The brothel is it, however, and once he's gathered with his men and orders given for the day, meals taken and a bath, he manages to sneak out once more and go to where he knows he'll find her.

He doesn't take his time. He's at the door as soon as he can and enters as quietly as possible, not wanting to draw a scene. He doesn't stop until he's found her.]

[ She makes to stand, moving towards him. ]

[He stands then, moving to her chair and kneeling beside it. He takes her hands in his.]

[ But ah, she's smiling as she lean to kiss his hair. ]

[He stands, pulling her up with him.]

Come. Help me sleep.

Ah, you fiendish taskmaster. So after toiling for hours I am still expected to fend off the horrors troubling your sleep for the entire night.

You truly are a tyrant.

A tyrant who wishes you to sleep beside him. Clearly, I am the most despicable man to ever live.

[ So she ought to escape the clutches of such a demon, if nothing else to free herself from her equally wretched dress.

Dainty steps, as lovely as she ever was as she lets herself fall on the bed. ]

[He takes off his jerkin and shirt, then joins her on the bed.]

You are full of surprises.

[ Her eyes soften for a moment as she takes him in, noticing the differences from the last time she held him, a mere month ago. Holding back a sigh, she kisses the skin over his heart before gathering him in her arms. ]

They're not that many, I assure you.

[darotisentys]

They keep things interesting.

[He rests his head against her shoulder, sighing contentedly.]

The secrets you didn't know I had? I'm sure.

[ And just like before, it is there: the careful threading of her fingers through tangled hair, the strong steady staccato of her heartbeat. ]

[ Her words, unusually quiet. A faraway look to her that he does not get to see; is this the correct path to follow? The madam can't tell.
